IN DEFENCE Don't Know How to Break Dance CD

"The cover of the zombie punk and ghetto blaster, coupled with the title of this CD certainly inform the potential listener that IN DEFENCE have a wicked sense of humor. Along with song titles such as “No War But Star Wars”, “The Kids Will Still Have Their Say”, “Mosh Scene Politics” and “False Positive Youth” there is definitely tongue in cheek malarkey to their ideas that they are addressing in a fun way, reminding us to have a good time while fucking up shit in the system. That said, I can only guess because I have to go to their MySpace page to see the lyrics. Ah guys, come on - please don’t resort to that. What am I going to do when I have no computer while I’m listening to the CD? Anyway, that minor blip aside, IN DEFENCE continue to shred and the 13 song (unlucky for some, but not us) are top notch, fast and furious straight ahead hardcore. Everyone executed with a passion and burning desire to get you moving. They have no trouble there, as the songs are fantastic, with great intros which build up to a tornado of sweat drenched hardcore songs. Really good quality, fast paced incendiary song structure and smoking riffage. Plenty of catchy sing a long, which I can only imagine the Twin Cities Crew going apeshit. Just think of OUR TURN, THE A-TEAM, SSD, NEGATIVE APPROACH, JUDGE, PROJECT X and STRAIGHT AHEAD. I was floored, and I think you will be too. (Mel Hughes)" - Profane Existence #56
