"This magazine is fucking fantastic! The liner notes say that this is the first issue that wasn't printed in German, and I'm happy I was the recipient of this self-proclaimed "maximum artscum". Inside Artzine is printed in full color glory. The art it displays is downright creepy. Most of it is apocalyptic and morphic in theme, though the mediums by which they are created are vast and varied. A lot of the work would be lost in translation of text- a woman part
female part alligator, a scenes that look like child fairytales gone the way of LSD (you know, the "bad trip" kind), things I never wanted to see done with dolls... All of the artwork makes me want to look away, but I can't. I'm intrigued. Highlights other than that include an interview with Michael Hutter and images of his work; yellow seeping mushroom clouds atop wrapped dark-blue decaying buildings portray a bleak lonely view of urban demise.
Also noteworthy is the article and pictures of the Bolivian mummies covered in tattoos found in the 1800s. In addition to all this, there are poems corresponding with even more artwork, and several magazine reviews! This magazine is a must-have for anyone interested in dark, daring political artwork and it's appendages. A really great
release! (Maygun)" - Profane Existence #54
