PRIDS, THE Something Difficult / One Thousand Five 7"

The latest EP from Portland / Seattle phenom THE PRIDS. Borrowing heavily from 80's post-punk band such as WIRE and KILLING JOKE, they have been belting out their own mournful sound since 2000. THE PRIDS are by no means a hollow imitation of a time gone by, but are an innovative and powerful force int heir own right.  The message is sad but hopeful and powerfully conveyed by the shared harmony of male and female vocals. While the music is firmly in the post-punk, neo new wave vein, their roots are firmly planted in the DIY punk underground. They even have a direct connection to Profane Existence in that their drummer was also in band  STATE OF THE UNION for which we released three projects.
