STRYCHNINE Born in a Bar LP

STRYCHNINE formed in 1995, amidst the celebrated East Bay punk scene, and out of the ashes of various bands, including CAPTIOL PUNISHMENT, HELL'S KITCHEN, NAKED AGGRESSION, GRINCH and ECONOCHRIST. Working within the aggressive and ultrasonic parameters of old school punk, this Oakland, California-based band puts its own hyper-drive spin on the already charged-up metallic speed-punk sound. With nine years of U.S. and European touring under their belts and with a tattooed arm's length of singles, EPs and compilation appearances to their credit, STRYCHNINE has been able to sharpen its hard-edged craft into a fine point. Their debut full-length, Dead Rats & Oakland Dogs (East Bay Menace) got the thumbs up in punk zines from Maximum Rocknroll to Flipside. One critic called their 2001 follow-up, Born Too Loose (Industrial Strength), "A major action blast: hits you like a full keg thrown at you at 100 mph!" Their last full length CD, Die Oakland Stadtmusikanten (TKO), received glowing reviews in fanzines and webzines all around the world. Skratch Magazine called it " A great live disc... an absolute brutal jewel ". STRYCHNINE has shared stages with many of the punk legends that influenced them, but now it's their turn to step up and join their heroes in the punk rock pantheon.
